Nevada Teacher Corps (NTC) is an ambitious effort to bring talented elementary teachers to the Nevada schools that need them most. We believe all kids deserve inspired teaching—particularly those from the state’s traditionally under-served communities. We are recruiting, training and supporting talented teachers to give our kids the great education they need to flourish.
This is a powerful moment for public education in Nevada. With more than $100 million in new investments, a plan to expand all-day kindergarten to every school in the state, financial incentives for new teachers and those in hard-to-staff roles, and more, Nevada is making a huge commitment to giving every child a great education. At the same time, our student population is growing, thanks to vibrant businesses and an affordable housing market. We face a critical need for great teachers to make the promise of education a reality for all our students.
That’s where you come in. NTC is building a passionate group of educators for district and charter schools across the state, and supplying the training and support our teachers need to provide a transformative education for Nevada’s students. If you’re ready to make your mark on education, Nevada is ready for you.
So, who are we?
NTC teachers acknowledge the challenges of poverty but reject its limitations. We believe every lesson has the power to inspire, every hour in the classroom is precious, and every student has the potential to succeed. We know that having even one top teacher changes the game for our students—and together, we will change the game for thousands.
NTC teachers come to the classroom from diverse backgrounds and receive support tailored to their needs. Aspiring teachers, such as professionals and recent college graduates, get licensed through TNTP Teaching Fellows, one of the nation’s most rigorous training programs and receive ongoing support through the first year.
Nevada is full of opportunity—for students and for the best teachers in the nation. We are driven to do the hard work necessary to give every child a great education. We teach in Nevada because we want to see that hard work pays off in a state that takes great teaching seriously. If you’re inspired by our vision, join us.
