Finding a Teaching Position
Nevada Teacher Corps (NTC) will help you find a position that’s right for you, so that both you and your principal feel good about the match. Our staff will offer resources, support and guidance, but all hiring decisions are made by principals or other school-based administrators.
NTC will help you navigate the school hiring process, showing you how to find vacancies and connecting you with our network of principals. Our team will host job-search workshops, set up mock-interviews, and provide résumé and cover letter support.
Salary and Benefits
As a full-time employee of the district that hires you, you will earn the same starting salary as other first-year teachers in that district. New teachers who join high-need Nevada schools—Title I schools or schools that received one of the two lowest ratings for school performance statewide—may be eligible for bonuses of up to $5,000.
You will also be able to access the same comprehensive benefits as all new teachers in your district, including medical, dental, vision and life insurance coverage, and discounts through the Clark County Education Association. Nevada also has one of the most generous state retirement systems in the country.
New teachers who join high-need schools may be eligible for Stafford and Perkins student loan deferment or forgiveness. For details, please contact your loan provider directly or visit the Federal Student Aid website.
If you have private student loans, we encourage you to ask your lender about potential loan-forgiveness programs. You can also get more information from the Silver State Credit Union, which offers low-interest loans for new teachers.
